Hello,
You did a tremendous job on the food memoir and your participation in the fish bowl discussion was well noted. I also truly enjoyed your effort to combine orange juice and the monkey bread to create one dish that parallels the path of your family. During the fish bowl discussion, I was impressed by how you blended your poems/literary criticisms and used them simultaneously to support an observation rather than using them one by one. Great job overall!

Hello,
As an only child who could not truly relate to the connection between you and your siblings, I was touched and could feel the strong relationship you all have. And, this was brought out extremely well through your food memoir and how the making of the peppermint patty brownies reminded you of your older brother. Also, during the fish bowl discussion, I thought deeper about the significance of Joe's death and how his death was a catalyst for Janie's self-actualization journey. Great job overall!

Hello,
My favorite thing about your food memoir was how you incorporated your family into the video to further emphasize the importance of your past generations and their influence on you. In regards to the fish bowl discussion, I was quite intrigued by the point you brought up about how different Janie's story would be if Nanny wasn't so involved. As seen in the book, Nanny further imposes her ideals as she sees Janie kissing a mediocre man. If this event did not occur, like you asked, Janie might not have had such pressure on her to marry as she did. Great job overall!

Hello,
My favorite thing about your food memoir was the attention to detail and effort you put into making the pretzels(the endless kneading). They were delicious and the chocolate sauce was a wonderful compliment. In regards to the fish bowl discussion, you brought up a really interesting point about how Hurston used the piano as a symbol to represent Janie. I was intrigued by how you expanded on this idea and compared the piano to Janie as something Jody both possesses, but has no use for. Great job overall!
